Home Electronics Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2nd October 2026

1. Product Compatibility

It is the buyer's sole responsibility to verify that any home electronics product purchased from Select Parts is compatible with their existing devices, systems, and infrastructure before placing an order. Select Parts provides product descriptions and specifications in good faith, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with every device, operating system, firmware version, or third-party service. Incompatibility does not constitute a fault with the product and does not entitle the buyer to a return or refund unless the product is demonstrably defective. If you are unsure whether a product will be compatible with your setup, please contact us before purchasing.

2. Software, Firmware & Digital Content

Some electronics products are supplied with pre-installed software or firmware. Select Parts makes no warranty regarding the ongoing availability of software updates, manufacturer support, or cloud-based services associated with any product. Where a product relies on a third-party app, platform, or subscription service, Select Parts accepts no liability for the withdrawal, modification, or discontinuation of that service by the third party. Digital content, licence keys, and software activations are non-returnable once accessed or redeemed. By activating or downloading any digital content, the buyer waives their right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 in respect of that digital element.

3. Electrical Safety

All electrical products sold by Select Parts are intended for use within the United Kingdom and are supplied for use with standard UK mains voltage (230V AC, 50Hz) unless otherwise stated. Buyers must ensure that any product is installed, connected, and operated strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and all applicable UK electrical safety regulations, including the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. Select Parts accepts no liability for damage, injury, or loss arising from improper installation, misuse, modification, or use of a product outside its stated electrical specifications. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician before installation.

4. Returns & Right to Cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason, provided the goods are unused, in their original packaging, and in a resaleable condition. To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us in writing (by email or post) within the 14-day cancellation window. You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods unless the item is faulty or was incorrectly supplied. The following items are excluded from the right to cancel: • Sealed audio, video, or software products where the seal has been broken after delivery. • Digital content or licence keys that have been accessed or redeemed. • Products that have been used, damaged, or are missing original accessories or packaging. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receipt of the returned goods, subject to inspection.

5. Warranty

Unless otherwise stated, home electronics products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty only. The duration and terms of this warranty vary by manufacturer and product. Select Parts does not offer an additional warranty beyond the statutory rights afforded to consumers under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Under this Act, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If a product develops a fault within 30 days of delivery, you are entitled to a full refund. Between 30 days and 6 months, we will offer a repair or replacement in the first instance. Warranty claims do not cover: • Damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, or unauthorised modification. • Normal wear and tear. • Faults arising from use outside the product's stated specifications.

6. Faulty or Incorrect Goods

If you receive a product that is faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described, you must notify Select Parts within 48 hours of delivery by contacting us via the details on our website. We will arrange collection of the faulty item at our cost and offer a replacement, repair, or full refund at our discretion, in accordance with your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please retain all original packaging until you are satisfied with your order, as this may be required for any return or warranty claim.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Select Parts shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from the purchase or use of any home electronics product, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of earnings, damage to other equipment, or costs arising from incompatibility. Our total liability in respect of any claim shall not exceed the purchase price of the product giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
